Statement of Function
The Indian River County Recreation Department provides, operates, and publicizes recreational programs and facilities for the use of County residents and visitors of all age groups. The Recreation Department provides diversified recreational opportunities supervised by professional staff in modern facilities. It also provides trained, certified water safety personnel at County beaches and aquatic centers. Funding for the various programs and administrative costs come solely from the County’s M.S.T.U. fund.

The Special Olympics of Florida State Aquatic Championships are coming to the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian. This event will take place October 2 & 3, 2010. Volunteers are needed!

Registration has begun for summer specialty camps. Basketball and volleyball camps will be located in the Ag Center at the Indian River County Fairgrounds. Each camp is co-ed and will run for one week
